Responsibilities
- Ensure and maintain high facility standards by following Company Policies and Safety Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BRCGS, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements.
- Ensure all finished products meet safety and legality standards upheld by the facility.
- Complete all required paperwork for the section.
- Ensure products are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Teach and enforce food safety and regulatory regulations; orient new employees on job tasks.
- Operate slicing and packaging machinery.
- Handle and package finished product; reject products that do not meet specifications.
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and complete related paperwork; conduct calibrations as needed.
- Adjust packed bread to meet standard quality requirements.
- Perform a final quality check before boxing the product; ensure correct labeling.
- Load finished boxes onto pallets, wrap, and store properly.
- Clean and sanitize slicing/packing machinery at the beginning or end of the day; maintain a clean work environment.
- Report food quality, food safety, general safety, and equipment issues to department Supervisor and/or Management.
- Participate in food safety, HACCP meetings, and daily team meetings as necessary.
- Report any issues to management.
Requirements
- Experience in safe food handling, HACCP, BRCGS, or food production (preferred).
- Willing and able to learn how to operate food processing equipment safely.
- Able to lift/unload containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to read and comprehend English instructions and directions.
- Good hand/eye coordination; willing to perform repetitive work.
- Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, and work in a team environment.
- Willing to contribute to a safe working environment.
- Flexible schedule with potential overtime; ability to work any day of the week.
- Willing to stand for long periods of time.
- Excellent work and attendance record; attend all required meetings.
- Able to learn and complete a variety of duties as assigned.
