About the role

This on-site position in Washington, West Virginia supports Autoclave’s packaging process as a key member of the production team. The Packaging Production Scheduler maximizes efficiency of assets and labor resources to achieve the unit’s production plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adjust the PACK Production Schedule in coordination with Asset Optimizer (AO), Maintenance Scheduler, and Packaging Daily Execution Lead (DEL) to meet FP completion dates for all AC Boxlines, Blending Operations, and MPW Bagline.
  • Obtain approval from production leadership for significant changes to the production plan and communicate updates to the supply chain team.
  • Own the packaging production schedule process, including:
    • A 2-Week Soft packaging schedule for all open FP POs on each production asset.
    • A 48-Hour Hard production schedule by available asset, based on PO priority, WIP inventory, and staffing levels.
  • Create, distribute, and review campaign packets and packout sheets for all FG packaging operations.
  • Manage PACK 24/7 and CORE Team Metrics & KPIs, including:
    • Production Actual vs. Production Plan by Asset & Total (daily, weekly, monthly, and YTD).
    • Tote Bin Empty vs. Full Status Report by product/bin type (daily).
    • Tote Bin Location (AC & MPW) Report (daily).
    • OPEN P.O.s (due within 14 days) Status Report by scheduled completion date (weekly).
    • AC Silo % Full Status (daily).
    • MPW Blender % Full Status (daily).
  • Cross-train with the Unit Production Coordinator for short-term coverage.
  • Communicate, create, and execute pre-generated batches/POs for planned SAP outages to mitigate operational or inventory impact.
  • Manage PO generation, scheduling, and technical communication for PACK TAs in production.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures (SOPs/ODs) and safety standards.
  • Maintain unit standards for housekeeping, quality management systems, personnel policies, and process safety management.
  • Model Celanese Core Value Compliance (Stewardship/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People).
  • Foster good communication and relations with Production Personnel, Business Planners & Schedulers, S&OP Team, Raw Material Coordinators, Unit Leadership Team, and Technical Engineering Staff.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other specialized programs as needed.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to meet business needs.
  • Troubleshooting experience for general computer and Microsoft application issues.
  • Ability to multitask in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Willingness to take calls and work after hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Business acumen related to production process flow, inventory management, and operational costs.
  • Sample Manager (LIMS) experience.
  • Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.
