Packaging Operator (Rotating) (1st/2nd Shifts)

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging line equipment, ensuring it is set up and maintained properly.
• Perform changeovers on all equipment, following established procedures and protocols.
• Fix and repair any equipment malfunctions or failures, using mechanical knowledge and skills.
• Identify and accurately report quality problems, working with teams to ensure products meet or exceed established quality standards.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and parts, ordering replacements as needed.
• Absorb and assist with completion of improvement projects and equipment installations, working with the engineering team as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.
• Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with established procedures.
• Attend all required training sessions, stay up to date on new equipment and technologies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 2+ years of operator experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good, effective oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge including MS Office, Email
• Ability to work a varied shift of either 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
• Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment/packaging department (preferred)
• Transferable skills such as packaging equipment, auto mechanics, maintenance, blow molding, electrical, or machine shop (preferred)
• Military experience in the above (preferred)
