Responsibilities
- Operate packaging line equipment, ensuring it is set up and maintained properly.
- Perform changeovers on all equipment, following established procedures and protocols.
- Fix and repair any equipment malfunctions or failures, using mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Identify and accurately report quality problems, working with teams to ensure products meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and parts, ordering replacements as needed.
- Absorb and assist with completion of improvement projects and equipment installations, working with the engineering team as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.
- Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with established procedures.
- Attend all required training sessions, stay up to date on new equipment and technologies.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of operator experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good, effective oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Office, Email
- Ability to work a varied shift of either 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
- Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift
Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment/packaging department (preferred)
- Transferable skills such as packaging equipment, auto mechanics, maintenance, blow molding, electrical, or machine shop (preferred)
- Military experience in the above (preferred)
