Packaging Operator I

3rd Shift - Monday - Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM (based on business needs and job completions, which could include overtime both during the week and on weekends).

Responsibilities

• Reviews Work Orders to determine packaging requirements.
• Visually inspects product for defects and transfers defective items to the appropriate location.
• Manual weighing and counting of product.
• Loads product into packaging machines and monitors machines for proper function.
• Unloads and visually inspects packaged product to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Places packaged product into boxes and applies identification labels to boxes.
• Accurately completes departmental paperwork.
• Participates in safety and health program activities, including reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and incidents to supervisors.
• Wears required personal protective equipment and supports safety committee activities.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
• Observes all safety procedures and policies, reports unsafe conditions, and uses equipment properly.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment: Fast-paced packaging/bagging environment up to 8 hours per day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required. May participate in a Health and Wellness Program (HCP).

Physical Demands: Light hand packaging duties with lifting up to 50 lbs.
