Packaging Operator (Crew A) Grand Forks

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains and adjusts machine that stock, fill, wrap, seal and label bags with finished product.
• Monitors and ensures metal detectors are tested and fully functional.
• Makes sure check-weighers are kicked off and reports any issues to management.
• Controls packaging weights for main line or specialty products.
• Reads and understands training materials and completes paperwork in a timely manner.
• Enters data into a computer system.
• Ensures quality of bag condition, proper codes, case condition, glue condition, and metal detector checks.
• Recycles product from faulty packaging.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment, ensuring it meets company standards for cleanliness.
• Enters sanitation data into MMS.
• Sets up and supplies materials for all equipment on the assigned line.
• Operates and performs adjustments to packaging equipment (e.g., unclogs packaging machines, changes paper, tests, and cleans scale vibrators).
• Participates in bi-weekly major cleanups.

Typical Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Relevant Experience

• At least 3 years of related experience and/or training
