About the Role

We are looking for a Packaging Operator to join our MGP team in Atchison, KS. As an Operator, you are responsible for managing equipment and conducting in-plant testing on production samples to verify product is within established specifications.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate packaging equipment, such as a bag/box filler, bag sealer, box taper, check weigher, pallet stretch wrapper, and all other equipment post-dryer.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks and learn the processes for documenting incoming and outgoing materials.
• Perform changeovers from different products and different packaging efficiently.
• Perform Sanitation during changeovers, including both wet and dry cleaning, and work safely with sanitation chemicals.
• Efficiently perform allergen cleaning when needed of all plant equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and sanitation levels to meet BRC requirements.
• Use computers to enter required data.
• Interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Operate in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Work under pressure of deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Operate in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Wear personal protective equipment and other safety equipment as needed.
• Handle hazardous chemicals such as alcohol, caustic, acids, etc.
• Monitor and maintain equipment.
• Maintain manual and automated records and communicate over a radio.
• Perform other duties assigned by management as required.

• Ability to handle hazardous chemicals.
