Packaging Operator - 1st Shift (PP)

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot Big Bag Line, including changeovers and understanding the GUI for blending systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot Small Bag Line, including changeovers and understanding the GUI for blending systems.
• Provide packaging materials and stage materials as needed.
• Perform JDA functions and identify kibbles for families.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and promote associate safety and product integrity.
• Improve operations through problem-solving and provide leadership in addressing issues.
• Train other area associates on various aspects of operations.
• Communicate and escalate quality and food safety concerns to management.
• Assist in setting strategy for packaging systems to meet production schedules efficiently.
• Troubleshoot packaging systems to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
• Assist in improving and upgrading current systems and equipment, and provide input on new projects.
• Assist Research and Development in new packaging systems and improving existing ones.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training modules.
• Assist with warehouse and shipping functions as needed.
• Participate in site safety programs and contribute to improving safety.

Requirements

• Willing and able to work rotating schedules.
• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Outstanding computer and data entry skills.
• Effective communication in English.
• High level of mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
