Packaging Machine Operator - Othello, WA

About the role

The position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming all packaging equipment on all lines with an emphasis on Line 4. This role will cover vacancies, train employees in all Packaging Operator positions, and ensure packaging area equipment and personnel efficiently package French fry and specialty products to meet customer, quality assurance, and packaging goals.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Blueprint case packer, case erector, baggers, Ishida scales, and all supporting equipment on Retail Line/Line 4 for optimal performance.
• Ensure efficient operation of baggers, Ishida scales, and supporting equipment to meet required packaged volumes, weights, and bag/case condition.
• Enter downtime data into MMS and correct underweight or slip cases as needed.
• Maintain packaging equipment and immediate area in a food-sanitary manner, meeting company standards.
• Ensure packaging materials are readily available and equipment is properly programmed.
• Troubleshoot all packaging equipment and train employees on procedures and operating techniques.
• Work with maintenance to perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain sanitary conditions daily and during major cleanups.
• Attend and participate in training activities relevant to the position.
• Follow safe work practices to prevent injuries and comply with company policies and the Union Labor Agreement.
• Interface with team members and support groups using a participative management style aligned with operational goals.
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance that meets company standards.
• Handle additional accountabilities as required by management to meet operational goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 3+ years of related experience and/or training.

Pay

$26.65/hour.
