Packaging Machine Operator I

Schedule

3rd Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 10 PM – 6 AM

Responsibilities

• Perform packaging of animal diet by filling, closing, packing, and palletizing packages.
• Set up and prepare work prior to each packaging run using the production schedule and quality‑related documents.
• Accurately complete all required forms and documentation for each packaging run.
• Conduct and document in‑process checks and verifications in compliance with the established Quality System.
• Operate all packaging equipment and make operational adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area according to housekeeping procedures and checklists.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• English communication skills – written, reading, and oral.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Neat and legible handwriting.

• Ability to work safely, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and safe job procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
• Ability to accurately transpose written and printed information to quality record documents.
• Capability to stand for up to 8 hours.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Physical mobility within the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders.
• Willingness and ability to wear required safety equipment.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 lb from floor to shoulder height.
• Willingness to operate a forklift (certification offered on‑site).
• Willingness to work overtime, including alternative shifts and weekends.
• Successful completion of a physical examination by a company‑approved physician.

This position may be offered at different levels based on a combination of education and experience, with salary adjusted accordingly.
