Responsibilities

  • Operates machines within assigned area, including troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, quality control, and waste control.
  • Performs chemical cleaning within assigned area, both on daily turnaround and unplanned intervals.
  • Escalates acute and chronic machine and organizational issues to Line Specialist and/or Lead as required.
  • Supports existing line operation documentation (e.g., Gemba boards, changeover checklists, 5S, centerlines, and CIL tracking) by completing required tasks and documentation at specified intervals.
  • Supports new initiatives by providing feedback, writing and training others on procedures, and adopting new tasks and documentation.
  • Accountable for keeping and maintaining assigned tools.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Level of Responsibility

  • Works with little supervision, but work is reviewed.
  • Exercises discretion within areas of responsibility and recommends actions/alternatives to supervisor and others.
  • Limited or no customer contact; indirect contribution to revenue-generating efforts.
  • Decisions or actions may moderately impact other departments and external relationships.
  • Errors are usually detected after the fact and may cause moderate interruptions or delays.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work environment is cold/damp and involves exposure to heat, cold, dust, or other minor inconveniences.
  • Occasional physical exertion, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Extensive standing, repetitive motion (hands/wrists), climbing, and balancing.
  • Moderate concentration required for moderately complex tasks; occasional visual effort.
  • Some exposure to hazards that might cause minor injury.
  • Less than 25% travel required (to other sites via airplane).
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, days, weekends, or overtime as required, sometimes for weeks at a time.
