About the role

This is a high-paced position responsible for packaging production, including boxing, labeling, and packaging of products. The Packaging Line Operator works closely with the line lead to ensure efficient operations while maintaining a clean, organized work area and adhering to all company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized, clean work area
• Assist the line lead in preparing, setting up, and running each specific line
• Know and follow all applicable Sanitation and Safety SOPs
• Know the locations of MSDS and SOP books
• Understand Product QA requirements for the area
• Know general company policies and handbook policies
• Access computer tracking information, training information, and other relevant data
• Attend daily training classes
• Perform at least 50% or more of the line leader responsibilities
• Maintain a positive attitude and follow company policies
• Keep production errors to a minimum and meet company standards
• Maintain productivity standards that meet company expectations
• Foster excellent communication and relationships with other employees to promote teamwork
• Seek new ways to improve productivity
• Ensure food safety and work safely by following all safety standards and procedures
• Perform packaging tasks: catch/bag food, seal bags, quality-check bags, place in packaging box, seal the box, put on a pallet, label the pallet, and deliver to the wrapping station
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required

Requirements

• Desire and willingness to learn
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to adhere to scheduled work hours
• Maintain proper hygiene
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications

• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly
• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
