About the role
This is a high-paced position responsible for packaging production, including boxing, labeling, and packaging of products. The Packaging Line Operator works closely with the line lead to ensure efficient operations while maintaining a clean, organized work area and adhering to all company policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized, clean work area
- Assist the line lead in preparing, setting up, and running each specific line
- Know and follow all applicable Sanitation and Safety SOPs
- Know the locations of MSDS and SOP books
- Understand Product QA requirements for the area
- Know general company policies and handbook policies
- Access computer tracking information, training information, and other relevant data
- Attend daily training classes
- Perform at least 50% or more of the line leader responsibilities
- Maintain a positive attitude and follow company policies
- Keep production errors to a minimum and meet company standards
- Maintain productivity standards that meet company expectations
- Foster excellent communication and relationships with other employees to promote teamwork
- Seek new ways to improve productivity
- Ensure food safety and work safely by following all safety standards and procedures
- Perform packaging tasks: catch/bag food, seal bags, quality-check bags, place in packaging box, seal the box, put on a pallet, label the pallet, and deliver to the wrapping station
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
Requirements
- Desire and willingness to learn
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to adhere to scheduled work hours
- Maintain proper hygiene
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Qualifications
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
