Packaging - General Labor IN 2nd shift

About the role

The General Laborer at Ken’s Foods assists in various physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to work efficiently and safely, assisting the designated machine operator or production team in functions such as cup loading, case making, manual case-packing, palletizing of product, banding and wrapping of pallets, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and semi-automatic packaging equipment in a safe and timely manner
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality, and facility cleanliness
• Participate in machine and area cleaning in a safe and timely manner
• Locate and retrieve materials
• Load packaging materials into machine
• Pack and handle finished goods
• Apply labels to finished good pallets
• Operate manual pallet jack and electric pallet stacker
• General housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work with chemicals and cleaning products
• Food Safety Responsibilities: Producing products free of contamination, following all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies, reporting suspicious activities, inspecting work area for contamination
• Safety Responsibilities: Maintaining a safe and alert state, responding promptly to operating conditions, coping with sudden changes, and working in an unfatigued state

Skills

• Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
• Language Skills: Read and print simple sentences
• Mental Alertness: Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, cope with sudden changes, and respond to alarms

Benefits

At Ken’s Foods, the General Laborer starts at $18.00 per hour, with a $1.00 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts, and is paid weekly. Additional information about the company and products can be found at www.kensfoods.com.
