Packaging Equipment Operator - 12-Hour Night Shift

About the role

The position works out of Abbott's Columbus, Ohio plant in the Abbott Nutrition Division. The Columbus Plant is Abbott's first manufacturing facility in the world, producing science-backed nutrition products for people of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate high-speed production equipment to make industry-leading nutrition products.
• Start up and shut down equipment according to established procedures or specifications.
• Perform minor to major clearing of jams and address downtime issues on the line.
• Report any abnormal equipment functions or product problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of packaging materials and complete work order documentation.
• Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensure safe operations of all equipment, promptly reporting incidents, injuries, or safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by utilizing 5S cleaning tools and keeping the area neat and organized.
• Adhere to product isolation procedures, sample products, and identify product status.
• Ensure proper identification, correct codes, and expiration dates for both products and materials.
• Comply with applicable FDA, GMP, OSHA, and Abbott/Ross regulations, policies, procedures, or guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior manufacturing, production line, and/or machine/equipment operator experience.
• Able to communicate pertinent line information to both production and support group personnel.
• A high level of attention to detail is required.
• Must be able to maintain accurate and legible records such as Production Counts, Material Usage/Losses, and properly document information on Batch Work Orders as per company procedures.
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials to the equipment in operation and monitor supply usage.

Qualifications

• Experience working with RF Scanners is preferred.

Schedule

Shift 12-hour night shift - 6:00pm to 6:30am with rotating onsite days.
