Packaging Engineer Intern

Position Overview Performs assignments involving engineering principles and knowledge of packaging materials (mainly corrugated, foam, and mold pulp) for packaging development / improvements. Major Tasks And Responsibilities Works closely with the packaging engineer to achieve daily tasksPackaging development, including prototyping, testing, and documentation for all business unitsAssists with equipment testing and machine tryouts related to packaging implementationAssists in the packaging cost estimating processDevelop knowledge of materials used and packaging assembly processesValue Added / Value Engineered packaging improvementsCreates, reviews, updates, and circulates packaging specificationsGather critical requirements and researching product alternativesInteract cross functionally supporting various packaging materials projects Experience/Qualifications Familiarity with Artios Cad (both 2D and 3D), Tops, and Adobe Illustrator. Possess strong hands-on and mechanical skills with familiarity of hand and power toolsExcellent communication and organizational skillsProven problem solving and analytical skillsSelf- motivatedAbility to perform at a high level in a lean manufacturing environment with a team based organizationWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to bring enthusiasm and excitement to the job!Excellent attendanceFamiliarity with SolidWorks a plus Education Rising sophomore to senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Packaging Science.
