Engineer Intern

About the role

As an Engineer Intern in our Facades Practice, you will gain hands-on experience working on innovative building envelope projects, from high-rise curtain walls and complex cladding systems to adaptive-reuse and specialty façade solutions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, architects, and façade specialists, gaining practical exposure to the structural and performance considerations of façade design.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to structural analysis, design, and detailing of façade systems, including curtain walls, unitized panels, and other cladding systems.
• Assist in reviewing structural loads, wind, seismic, and thermal performance criteria for façade components.
• Collaborate with in-house engineers, architects, and external consultants to support coordinated, high-quality façade designs.
• Assist in preparing drawings, technical specifications, and documentation within a BIM environment.
• Learn about constructability reviews, mock-up testing, and facade performance evaluation.

Requirements

Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering. Strong academic record and interest in structural and façade engineering.

Qualifications

Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, or other modeling software is a plus. Curiosity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers.

Pay

The rate for this position generally is $25 - $35 biweekly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
