Packaging Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the operations, sourcing, marketing, and product teams throughout the development and commercialization of new products
• Analyze product drawings and specifications to determine physical characteristics of products, special handling, environment and safety requirements and type of materials required for packaging
• Troubleshoot packaging problems involving design, material, and processes providing timely and cost-effective solutions
• Implement corrective actions where necessary
• Create packaging BOM’s, pallet configurations, and label guides for new part numbers
• Collaborate with purchasing and operations to evaluate and validate new sources of packaging and labeling materials
• Ensures appropriate validation plans are completed
• Inputs and maintains customer portal data as it relates to packaging development and approval as required
• Creates dielines for new packaging
• Maintains knowledge of customer packaging requirements to ensure compliance
