Packaging Engineer
Duration: Ongoing contract
Location: Onsite 2 days per week in either Summit, NJ or Fort Washington, PA
About the role
Our large consumer manufacturing client is seeking a Packaging Engineer to provide technical support in the design, development, testing, and production scale-up of new package development. This role involves collaborating with research and development, marketing, market research, supply chain, process excellence, and other affiliated departments to identify and address packaging needs.
The Packaging Engineer will develop, write, gain cross-functional alignment, and route for approval package development documentation, including Package Component Specifications, Package Development Assessment and Plan documents, Packaging Line Trial Protocols and Reports, and Package Development Reports.
The role also involves leading the development and assessment of information to support package development and life cycle management initiatives, such as design requirements, scope of change, packaging and equipment solution proposals, risk assessments, test plans, and test results analysis.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for new package development, including design, testing, and production scale-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, marketing, supply chain, etc.) to address packaging needs.
- Develop, write, and gain approval for package development documentation (e.g., specifications, protocols, reports).
- Lead assessments for package development initiatives, including risk evaluations, test plans, and results analysis.
- Define design requirements, scope of change, and packaging/equipment solution proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience writing protocols.
- Experience with packaging components.
Pay
$40/hr to $45/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and education.
