About the Role
This role focuses on designing, developing, and commercializing packaging solutions that meet customer, consumer, and operational needs. The position involves leading cross-functional project teams, managing packaging projects from concept to production, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work with commercialization and production teams to design and optimize packaging solutions.
- Lead packaging projects, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
- Present design concepts, improvements, and test results to clients and internal teams.
- Qualify new packaging materials, run line trials, and assist in equipment validation.
- Identify and drive gross margin improvement projects through packaging optimization.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to support continuous improvement programs.
- Help build and maintain intellectual property related to packaging.
- Develop and maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, and engineering change orders in ERP systems.
- Create and revise packaging specifications, bill of materials, pallet patterns, and testing protocols.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in packaging.
- Provide technical expertise to solve packaging-related quality issues.
- Ensure packaging meets industry standards and sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5-8+ years of experience in Package Engineering Innovation for Consumer Goods and/or Nutraceutical products.
- Demonstrated ability to work on project teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, self-starter with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across various organizational levels.
- Problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency and ability to seek input from multiple sources.
- Ability to adapt to changes and deal with uncertainties.
- Advanced PC skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, specifications systems, and TOPS/CAPE.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar software is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
