Packaging Associate (NIGHTS)

About the role

This role involves the safe operation of forklifts and other equipment to receive, stock, pick, load, transfer and ship raw or finished products. Duties include using computerized systems, packing and weighing products, performing inventory tasks, and communicating with leads and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit down and stand-up forklifts to stock, pick, and transport pallets of raw/finished products.
• Utilize computerized system to maintain records of product movement.
• Pack and weigh boxes of products and assign appropriate shipping methods.
• Restack pallets, restack raw material drums, pick products from shelves, and load on forklift.
• Check forklift for safety and smooth operation daily.
• Wrap boxes loaded on pallets using a wrapping machine.
• Complete inventory duties including counting, verifying, and checking documents.
• Enter data from inventory and batch records into computer.
• Communicate with leads and supervisors on schedules and priorities.
• Perform clerical duties such as production of shipping paperwork, answering phones, and handling requests and messages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Forklift certification upon attainment of the position.
• One to three years of warehousing experience.
• Good communication skills with the ability to follow verbal directions and written procedures.
• Physical ability to reach, push, pull, and lift boxes weighing up to 600 pounds.
• Basic arithmetic skills to count/balance numbers of products and perform routine calculations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: One to three years of warehousing experience.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good communication skills, ability to follow verbal directions and written procedures, physical ability to lift and operate forklifts, basic arithmetic skills.

The salary range for this position is $36,000.00 - $58,000.00. Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors including geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills.
