Our package handlers are front-line employees and a vital part of GLS. They work diligently to sort and ensure packages are in the correct route for proper delivery timelines. Working closely as a team, they handle all behind-the-scenes tasks safely and successfully in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Scan and/or sort packages, load and unload trucks.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Relatively stable conditions that are frequently wet and/or humid.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibrations.
- Loud noise levels and moderate exposure risk to hazardous environmental conditions.
- Standing for prolonged periods is required.
- Regularly works in outside weather conditions.
Lifting Requirements
- 0 - 25 lbs.: Regularly (65–100%)
- 26 - 50 lbs.: Regularly (65–100%)
- 51+ lbs.: Regularly (65–100%)
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Willing to follow instructions, accept supervision, maintain a positive attitude, and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
Pay
$17 per hour
