Part-time position with flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends. Free PACC membership included if hired. Pay range: $15.82 - $17.07 per hour.

About the Role

Ensure the PACC/Fitness Center is a welcoming atmosphere for members, patrons, and building users. Provide direction to PACC Assistants to maintain a safe and clean environment. Serve as the point person during open gym hours when Community Education office staff are not available.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning Duties (10%)
    • Ensure overall cleanliness of the Fitness Center, PACC, and lobby area for patrons, members, and building users.
    • Perform duties including mopping, sweeping, dry mopping gym floors/multi-purpose rooms, wiping tables and equipment, cleaning windows, and restocking supplies.
    • Direct PACC Assistants to complete all required daily cleaning duties.
  • Customer Service (45%)
    • Greet and assist members, patrons, and building users as needed.
    • Provide tours and membership information for PACC memberships.
    • Use Gym Assistant, the membership portal for the PACC/Fitness Center.
    • Provide general information and handle registrations for Community Education programs using the Eleyo Registration System.
    • Ensure the cash till matches recorded transactions.
  • Building and Program Supervision (45%)
    • Ensure groups, members, and patrons use the space appropriately.
    • Enforce PACC/Fitness Center policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a safe environment for staff, members, patrons, and building users.
    • Know the daily building schedule and ensure spaces are prepared for users.
    • Direct PACC Assistants in setting up and taking down equipment, bleachers, tables, and scoreboards.
    • Report equipment malfunctions, member/patron issues, or emergency incidents to Community Education staff.
  • Other Duties
    • Occasionally assist Community Education instructors by ensuring classroom doors are open and needs are met for classes held in the High School building.

Requirements

  • Must be age 21 or older.
  • Prior customer service and staff supervision experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively with members, patrons, and building users in a positive manner.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand directions.
  • Basic math and language skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Physical Involvement:
    • Prolonged periods in various body postures, including squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling, or sitting.
    • Occasional exertion in excess of 50 lbs. during setup or teardown of activities.
  • Mental Involvement:
    • Reading and explaining directions.
    • Meeting individual needs of members and patrons while exhibiting patience.
    • Handling multiple tasks and dealing with interruptions and distractions.
    • Occasional priority changes and deadlines.
    • Taking directions from multiple sources and maintaining flexibility.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional exposure to bodily fluids and airborne pathogens.
  • Occasional lifting of materials and equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and noise.

Supervision

  • Provide work direction to PAWS Assistants.
  • Reports to the Community Education Director.

Tools and Equipment

  • Occasional use of photocopier, calculator, computer, printer, multiline telephone, and keyboard.
  • Occasional use of Chromebooks, laptops, and iPads.
  • Frequent/daily use of walkie-talkies.
