PA or CRNP, Staff or Senior - UPMC Washington Cardiovascular Care

UPMC Washington Physicians Group is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support our Cardiovascular Care department. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no on-call or weekend shifts.

About the Role

Join a busy cardiology practice with 7 physicians and 5 advanced practice providers. All 7 physicians have been named Pittsburgh Magazine's Top Doctors for 2023, 2024, and 2025. The practice has also received the 2024 and 2025 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to UPMC’s mission of Life Changing Medicine.
• Set standards for the level and quality of care for the care delivery team.
• Provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Requirements

Qualifications

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

• Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience preferred.
• Current state RN license and CRNP certification required.
• National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania Board of Nursing, and certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances required.

Physician Assistant (PA)

• Graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• BS or MS preferred.
• Experience as a physician assistant and/or in a clinical setting preferred.
• Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances required.

Senior Level

• Minimum 3 years of experience or completion of a post-graduate residency.
• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
• BSN or MSN preferred for CRNP; BS or MS preferred for PA.
• National certification required.
• Must achieve a Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on annual performance evaluation.
• Completion of an OAPP-approved professional contribution within one year of hire or promotion.
• Department chair approval for promotion.
• ACLS, ITLS, NALS, PALS, or other certifications meeting AHA standards (including didactic and skills components) within 30 days of hire.
