Join Our Team at UPMC: Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider

UPMC’s Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Structural Heart, General Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides outpatient cardiovascular care for high volume structural heart program which includes procedures like TAVR, TEER, TTVR, PFO/ASD closure, LAAO as well as general cardiology, and interventional cardiology patients, including patient evaluation, treatment planning, medication management, diagnostic test review, procedural follow-up, patient education, and coordination of multidisciplinary care.
  • Works closely with a team of five APPs, supported by three dedicated schedulers and nurse coordinators, to provide care coordination and clinical support for a structural heart program that spans three sites and includes five interventional cardiologists and three cardiac surgeons.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.

Qualifications

  • For PA: Graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA), BS or MS preferred, current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), current CPR certification, Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances.
  • For CRNP: Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program, BSN, MSN preferred, current state RN license and CRNP certification, current CPR certification, Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience or Completion of a post-graduate residency for CRNP and PA.
  • Completion of National Certification, ACLS or ITLS or NALS or PALS or ACLS or other certifications listed must meet AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Pay

The salary range for APP, Senior is $48.17 – 72.43 USD.

Schedule

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 9-hour shifts with one day off every other week

Department Details

Our team consists of five APPs, supported by three dedicated schedulers and nurse coordinators. We provide care coordination and clinical support for a structural heart program that spans three sites and includes five interventional cardiologists and three cardiac surgeons. In addition, we support the general cardiology practices of three high-volume, well-established interventional cardiologists.
