About the role

The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiology team. This position is open to Physician Assistants or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners.

Department Details

The role involves approximately 95% outpatient clinic work and 5% hospital rounding. This is a busy practice with 7 Advanced Practice Providers. Cardiology inpatient and outpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program or physician assistant program accredited by the ARC-PA. - Current state RN license and CRNP certification for CRNP candidates. - Current state PA license for PA candidates. - National certification, eligibility for licensure by the Pennsylvania board of nursing, and eligibility for certification as a CRNP by the Pennsylvania state board of nursing. - Current CPR certification. - Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances are required. - Completion of an OAPP-approved professional contribution within one year of hire or promotion into the position. - Department chair approval for promotion. - ACLS, ITLS, NALS, PALS, or other relevant certifications must meet AHA standards and include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Senior Level

For the Senior level, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience or have completed a post-graduate residency. Additional qualifications include: - BSN or MSN preferred for CRNP candidates. - Completion of National Certification. - Achieve a Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on annual performance evaluations. - Promotion requires department chair approval. - Meet AHA standards for relevant certifications within 30 days of hire.
