About the role
UPMC York Cancer Center is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support the Hematology/Oncology department.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with oncologists, APPs, and the interdisciplinary team to comprehensively care for oncology patients.
- Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic tests; formulate a diagnostic impression; develop and implement a treatment plan; monitor effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies; offer counseling and education to meet patient needs.
- Provide care based on hematology/oncology background but not required.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
- Handle multiple priorities and specialized equipment; exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
- Able to assess patient data and interpret information to identify patient needs.
- Comply with department policies and procedures.
- Hold current state RN license and CRNP certification for CRNP, or current state PA license certified by the NCCPA for PA.
- Pass relevant certifications such as CPR, ACLS, ITLS, NALS, PALS, etc.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience or complete a post-graduate residency for Senior Level.
