PA or ACNP, Staff or Senior - Hospitalists, Central PA

UPMC Central PA is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to support our Hospitalists Team.

About the Role

• 100% inpatient, Hospital Medicine - Closed ICUs at P3 campuses (Harrisburg, West Shore, Community) with cross coverage to Carlisle (Open ICU for admissions only)
• Extensive APP network and support
• Detailed onboarding process with APP and Physician Support
• Wonderful learning environment, suitable as a first job for new graduates

Schedule

• 4 ten-hour shifts (4 10s)
• Days: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Evenings: Varies based on campus location (7:00 PM, 11:00 PM)
• Every 4th weekend rotation

Location

P3 campuses (Harrisburg, West Shore, Community) with cross coverage to Carlisle.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

• Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program
• BSN, MSN preferred
• Professional nursing and/or nurse practitioner experience preferred
• Current state RN license and CRNP certification
• Eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania Board of Nursing and certification as a CRNP
• Current CPR certification
• Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances required

Physician Assistant (PA)

• Graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA
• BS or MS preferred
• Experience as a physician assistant and/or in a clinical setting preferred
• Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Current CPR certification
• Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances required

Senior Level

• Minimum 3 years of experience or completion of a post-graduate residency
• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or ARC-PA accredited PA program
• BSN, MSN preferred for CRNP; BS or MS preferred for PA
• Completion of national certification
• Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on annual evaluation
• Completion of an OAPP approved professional contribution within one year of hire or promotion
• Department chair approval for promotion
• ACLS, ITLS, NALS, PALS, or other AHA-certified courses (didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire
