About the Role
The Physician Assistant (PA) Specialized Surgery Operative is a licensed, certified healthcare provider responsible for delivering direct patient care in neurosurgery and spine surgery. Responsibilities include performing assessments, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, prescribing medications, and conducting procedures within their scope. The role encompasses pre- and post-operative care, assisting in surgeries, and managing patients in clinics, emergency departments, and other settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and conduct medical procedures within scope.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Assist in neurosurgery and spine surgery procedures.
- Manage patient care in clinics, emergency departments, and other settings.
- Deliver care for both adult and pediatric patients.
Requirements
- Active Texas Physician Assistant license.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Recent graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
