PA Mobile Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

As a Silvi Materials, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will complete numerous tasks involved in the installation, fabrication, maintenance and repair of production and production-related equipment. You will demonstrate initiative, responsibility, have good interpersonal skills and be flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans and motors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other related equipment.
• Evaluate equipment failures for root cause and work with manager and coworkers to find better improvements for equipment.
• Install modifications to equipment as instructed by manager.
• Follow PM schedules and procedures, recording all relevant information.
• Properly balance systems and rigs for dismantling of mechanical equipment.
• Maintain and overhaul equipment and install new bearings, gears, valves, seals, linkages and other parts as required.
• Lubricate, clean and service equipment.
• Obtain, store, record, safeguard and properly use equipment, materials and supplies.
• Maintain a safe, clean working area.

Requirements

• At least 5 years similar work experience.
• Graduation from a technical or skills trades school preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with WINDOWS (basic applications), Internet, basic computer skills.
• Working knowledge of plant maintenance procedures.

Skills

• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
• Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.
• Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
• Able to work extended hours as needed.
• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location.
• Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
• Communicate with employees and other individuals as well as function safely within an office environment and, on occasion, may visit industrial plant locations.
• Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
• Communicate with employees and other individuals as well as function safely within an office environment and plant locations.
• Able to work at heights; climb stairs, ladders, and silos.
