PA - Dermatology Manager

About the role

The PA Manager in the Dermatology Department leads clinical practice and strategic management, supporting a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations across multiple service lines
• Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards of care, and process improvements
• Practice clinically within granted privileges and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient access and care quality
• Evaluate new technologies, communicate with leadership, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of three years of PA experience with dermatology-specific practice
• Leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• NCCPA certification
• State licensing
• DEA registration
• BLS certification
• ACLS/PALS certification as appropriate
• Advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and invasive procedure capabilities
• Critical thinking and effective communication
• Ability to mentor teams and build a culture of improvement
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to patient care
• Adherence to safety protocols, including personal protective equipment and influenza vaccination policies
