P3 CNC Operator - 2nd Shift (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm)

Responsibilities

• Set-up computerized machines to perform machine functions on work pieces.
• Read blueprints or work instructions for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determine sequence of operations.
• Selects, positions, and secures tool in toolholder (chuck, collet, or toolpost).
• Operates bench grinder to sharpen tools.
• Inputs control instruction into machine.
• Replaces old machine tools when worn-out with new ones.
• Takes accurate measurements of work pieces and gauges for production.
• Carry out maintenance measures to ensure good condition of machines.
• Operates three or more machines with little or no assistance.
• Sets up and operates machines and equipment other than machine tools such as welding machines and flame-cutting equipment.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of set-up and operation.
• Good knowledge of blueprints and micrometers.
• Good knowledge of edits and G-codes.
• Basic knowledge of production materials.
• Experience operating overhead crane.
• Basic communication skills.
