P/T INSTRUCTOR, ACADEMICS

Responsibilities

• Teach career planning, social adjustment, and general life skills courses.
• Instruct conversational English, as well as local ideas and customs to students with limited English proficiency.
• Maintain records including testing, daily inmate/detainee work, and attendance.
• Evaluate and ensure inmate/detainee academic progress.
• Provide individual tutoring.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Two (2) years of relevant teaching experience preferred. Valid teaching certificate from the state Department of Education or comparable authority required.
• Physical Requirements: Frequently lift or carry up to 10 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, walk, or stand. Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 lbs.; push or pull up to 40 lbs.; sit.
