P & L Operator

About the role

The P&L Operator Department at Mennel is dedicated to sustaining the company's legacy of excellence since 1886, supporting food safety initiatives, and ensuring reliable product delivery. This role is crucial for processing, transferring, packing, loading, shipping, and receiving all outbound and inbound materials.

Responsibilities

• Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations, including GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain the department/facility in an audit-ready condition.
• Ensure compliance with food safety rules, plant safety rules, and GMP’s.
• Complete general sanitation tasks such as blowing-down, vacuuming, mopping, washing, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, such as changing over packers, inspecting yard-tractors/fork-lifts, etc.
• Transfer, pack, load, and unload all flour and feed products using necessary equipment, including operating a forklift.
• Load bulk and bag flour trucks and rail cars.
• Accurately complete required documentation.
• Operate forklifts daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in flour milling, food processing, or related manufacturing fields is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Previous truck driving experience and a CDL is preferred.
• Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test and perform essential duties while wearing a respirator.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Internet, and Intranet, as well as other relevant computer software.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Good judgment and ability to adapt to changing work duties and events.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl, and perform tasks requiring lifting up to 50 pounds.
