Remote position based in Florida.

About the role

As a Bodily Injury Adjuster, you will adjust third-party General Liability, Auto Liability, Errors and Omissions, and Law Enforcement claims involving bodily injury, personal injury, or wrongdoing. This is a full-time, home-based role that may require occasional travel for claims meetings at client locations, continuing-education seminars, or scene investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties outlined in the Property Damage Adjuster job description.
  • Daily review of workflow and claim-system reminders; complete or make significant progress on any task within 72 hours.
  • Review new claim assignments within 24 hours and complete a Plan of Action.
  • Contact the insured or claimant within 24 hours of assignment.
  • Assign appraisers or coordinate receipt of damage estimates according to client guidelines.
  • Determine if estimates or appraisals are appropriate based on reported damages and other evidence.
  • Gather evidence of damages and interview or obtain recorded statements from claimants, insureds, and witnesses.
  • Request payment authorization following client guidelines and Davies Claims North America policy.
  • Follow client guidelines for any claim denial.
  • Obtain internal investigation reports from the insured when permitted.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with the client.
  • Determine degree of attorney involvement and act with utmost good faith from claim opening to closure.
  • Set reminders in the claim system for necessary follow-up.
  • Accurately record all communications and activities in claim-system notes.
  • Image documents relevant to the claim file, including email.
  • Meet continuing-education requirements for adjuster licensure.
  • Maintain a 95% claim-closure ratio.
  • Report to excess carriers on qualifying claims, including status updates.
  • Immediately notify supervisor and client of any Summons and Complaint; identify defense counsel and cooperate with them.
  • Obtain status reports from defense counsel at 90-day intervals.
  • Read and understand the excess-carrier insurance policy.
  • Run ISO ClaimSearch on injured claimants.
  • Determine injury status of all persons involved in a crash investigation.
  • Interact with adjusters from other companies to obtain needed information.
  • Respond to Reservation of Rights letters from excess carriers if necessary.
  • Develop working knowledge of No-Fault/PIP law.
  • Enter information into the claim system to ensure mandatory Medicare reporting.
  • Follow Davies Claims North America guidelines when settling claims involving Medicare recipients.
  • Check for claimant compliance with F.S. 768.28 Sovereign Immunity.
  • Recommend or assign field adjusters as necessary and review their reports for thoroughness and accuracy.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of an Adjuster license and maintenance of required CEU credits.
  • Excellent knowledge of Tort Law, bad-faith procedures, case law, principles of liability, and medical terminology.
  • Previous experience settling bodily-injury claims.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$65,000 – $75,000 per year.
