Owners Representative - Construction Program Management

The Owner’s Representative provides oversight and coordination for construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to Cleveland Clinic’s quality standards. Serving as an extension of the Owner, this role represents Cleveland Clinic’s interests throughout the project lifecycle while collaborating with other Owner’s Representatives, clinical managers, administrative leaders, and third-party architects and engineers. This role offers exceptional variety and the opportunity to help construct the healthcare facilities of the future.

Owner’s Representatives oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and day-to-day construction activities across projects ranging from approximately $100,000 to several million dollars, including major projects throughout the South submarket. Assignments may require relocation based on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and coordination of construction and renovation projects.
• Organize, chair and represent the Owner at regular project meetings and provide advice that will help facilitate economical, efficient and desired outcomes.
• Serve as a Project Manager for each project, facilitate communication between all team members and prepare and present project status updates to include the budget, schedule and issues.
• Monitor and direct all pre-construction and construction services.
• Review and recommend payment on requests, services rendered and/or goods received.
• Ensure all documents are prepared as scheduled.
• Monitor cost and progress on assigned projects.
• Act as a liaison between the project team and all other Cleveland Clinic departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, Computer Science or related program
• 8 years of experience in Project/Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Healthcare Facility Construction with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values more than $10M OR High School Diploma / GED or equivalent and 12 years of related experience
• Knowledge of construction/architectural terms and practices, ability to read construction documents and actively participate in contract process
• Can provide an overview and recommendations on engineering, design and scope, as well as, contract terms, budgets, change management, schedules, extensions, and resolution of issues throughout the project life cycle
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and web-based software

Preferred Qualifications

• A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in the State of Ohio
• A valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
• A valid Certified Healthcare Constructor credential by the American Hospital Association
• For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification
• Healthcare experience
• Experience with LEAN design and construction principles and techniques, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects, and utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• ASHE membership

Physical Requirements

• Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC, and the ability to walk various hospital campuses to attend meetings
• Must have normal or corrected vision, and the ability to verbally communicate to upper level management
• Occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds
• Frequent walking, climbing of ladders and scaffolding is required
• Must have ability to travel to other CC locations and active construction project sites and navigate over obstacles including the dexterity to safely walk a construction site on a daily basis
• Must have reliable transportation

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM — 5:00PM, with flexibility to work outside normal business hours.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
