Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily activities of all scheduled loads to the plant
- Resolution of any issues that may arise in a timely manner and keeping management informed
- Maintaining all systems related to the delivery of loads to customers
- Accurate spreadsheet maintenance with daily load counts, audit information, and other pertinent data
- Entering all information into appropriate systems
- Ensuring all documentation complies with DFA and/or customer standards, including manifest data, sample vials, and seal information
- Working with haulers to ensure proper tanker returns to each hauling company
- Keeping an open line of communication with DFA’s Southwest office regarding events and issues affecting operations
- Developing positive relationships with haulers, vendors, and colleagues
- Collaborating with hauling personnel to resolve issues or concerns between hauling companies and yard operations/plant
- Documenting and discussing with yard lead and supervisor
- Supporting a positive culture that fosters high performance and exemplifies positive and team-oriented values
- Participation in staffing activities, including hiring, training, scheduling, managing overtime, and evaluating staff for performance reviews
- Closely working with plant, lab, and management personnel to ensure accurate information is documented and daily orders are met
- Coordinating a consistent training program across all shifts
- Assisting in training leads and all associates to maintain yard consistency
- Helping to coordinate a consistent training program across all shifts
- Providing input into staffing activities, including hiring, training, scheduling, managing overtime, and evaluating each staff member for performance reviews
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
- 2 to 5 years of distribution, logistics, dispatch, and/or transportation experience, including demonstrated leadership attributes or team lead/supervisory experience
- May require obtaining and maintaining other certifications and/or licenses for continued employment
- Knowledge of distribution and transportation practices
- Understanding of industry, safety, and quality policies
- Skills in supervision and training others
- Efficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Quick learner of new software (e.g., Yard Management, Ever.Ag software, etc.)
- Clear and effective communication, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to adapt and manage to change effectively
- Able to multitask and problem solve
- Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
- Able to organize time, energy, and activities effectively to achieve goals (organizational skills)
