About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and directs warehouse operations, manages staff, and supports the Receiving Supervisor in managing freight schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure productive and cost-efficient operations
  • Directing day-to-day warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
  • Maintaining storage buy transactions, handling receiving errors, and staging products
  • Maintaining warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance and communicating repair needs
  • Ensuring a safe and clean workplace for employees and compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Training and enforcing adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Handling employee inquiries, providing counseling, and resolving discrepancies in shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
  • Executing Storage Buy Audits and ensuring inventory is staged and stored properly
  • Performing other related duties as directed by management

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, team-building, delegating, and follow-up skills
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written)
  • Competent in basic mathematical calculations and Windows-based systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
  • Available to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. Noise levels are typically moderate to noisy. Physical work involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and using hands and fingers. Standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are frequent tasks. Extended hours may be required, especially during peak seasons.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

  • Exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
