Overnight Veterinary Technician, Emergency

About the role

SAGE San Francisco is seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) and Veterinary Assistants (SVA) for emergency and critical care roles. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour for RVTs and $25.00 to $36.00 per hour for SVAs. Hiring bonuses of $8,000 for RVTs and $6,000 for SVAs are offered for overnight roles.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients
• Monitor critical and fractious patients
• Administer treatments and medications
• Aid with diagnostic tests and emergency procedures
• Ensure patient comfort and wellbeing
• Communicate effectively with pet owners
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Document patient care accurately
• Engage in ongoing education and training

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasks
• Maintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)
• CA-RVT license preferred but not required

Qualifications
