Overnight Veterinary Technician

Ocean State Veterinary Specialists (OSVS) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Overnight ICU Veterinary Technician to join their team. Located in East Greenwich, RI, this full-time position offers a supportive and collaborative work environment with opportunities for education and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to critical and hospitalized patients
- Triage incoming emergency cases and obtain detailed patient histories
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products
- Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment (oxygen cages, telemetry units, ventilators)
- Place and manage NG tubes, oxygen lines, central lines, urinary catheters, etc.
- Monitor patients under sedation and general anesthesia
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Veterinary technician program graduate or minimum 3 years recent experience in veterinary practice
- Certification (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred
- Strong clinical skills and ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Passion for animal care and client service
Compensation
- Non-credentialed Technicians: $20 to $30 per hour
- Certified Technicians: $22 to $32 per hour
- VTS Certified Technicians: $29 to $37 per hour
- Shift Differential: Additional $5 per hour for hours worked after 8 PM
