Overnight Stock Associate
About the role
The Overnight Stock Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, assisting with merchandise, and performing various cleaning tasks.
Responsibilities
- Understands safety is the top priority and practices safe behaviors.
- Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by being aware of the sales floor and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy, recognizing fellow associates using company recognition programs.
- Assists customers with merchandise, answers questions politely, and greets customers by making eye contact and saying "hello."
- Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls, handles issues courteously, and calls leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company's dress code.
- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
- Expedites new merchandise receipts to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company best practices, and maintaining department knowledge.
- Understands and follows loss prevention policies, Shortage Highway, and Store Protection Specialist (SPS) procedures.
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Fulfills Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, identifies and processes MOS merchandise, and notifies leadership for approval.
- Handles cash, checks, charge cards, and refunds accurately, following policies and procedures.
- Executes Store best practices to maximize productivity and minimize steps and touches in workflow.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with customers, associates, and store leadership.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/ADA
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
