Responsibilities

Spend the majority of the shift on foot patrol, walking and climbing stairs throughout the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks.
Maintain order in the hotel, addressing guest needs and resolving door lock problems.
Coordinate expedient responses to emergencies such as fires, safety hazards, and threats to life and property.
Handle undesired conduct and potential violations of hotel policy, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of guests, associates, and property.
Conduct walk-through observations of the entire hotel, promoting safe work practices.
Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls, responding promptly based on priority.
Monitor security monitors for unusual activity and report suspicious behavior directly to the supervisor.
Memorize and monitor life safety systems, including the layout of the building, alarm pull stations, and locations of fire extinguishers and sprinklers.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
Communicate well with guests and assist co-workers as needed.
Have thorough knowledge of the hotel's layout, function rooms, and surrounding areas.
Be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods, perform essential job functions, and adapt to extreme temperature ranges.
Have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, walk significant distances, grasp, lift up to 150 lbs., and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Have effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
