Overnight Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Check equipment (e.g., uniforms, vehicles, radios, emergency medical, fire fighting equipment, keys, flashlights, etc.)
• Patrol resort property for prevention, protection, early detection, or assistance of other community services or agencies
• Monitor and respond to radio communications
• Assist guests as needed
• Record tour reports using a mobile device
• Address suspicious activity immediately and respond to incidents promptly
• Utilize de-escalation practices to resolve disputes
• Follow directions provided by Resort Management or supervisor
• Maintain working knowledge of all assigned equipment
• Prepare and submit Incident Reports according to company standard operating procedures
• Receive, store, and log evidence properly
• Investigate assignments as directed by Management
• Check, patrol, tour, and secure properties during shift
• Respond to fire, gas, or other alarms as needed
• Manning the Guard House, including monitoring radios, answering phones, directing callers, managing access, challenging pedestrian traffic, key control, record keeping, and notifying emergency agencies
• Report observed violations of company policies and safety regulations
• Handle special projects or assignments as directed by Supervisor or Resort Management
• Obtain and utilize First Aid and related training as necessary
• Attend periodic scheduled refresher training
• Maintain a safe and clean work area for guests and employees
• Ensure compliance with all company policies
• Assist with minor maintenance problems as needed
• Assist with delivery of housekeeping items overnight when that department is closed
• Perform other primary duties as needed or required by business demands
• Complete all other duties assigned by management

Requirements

• State of Florida Class D Security License required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Proficient knowledge of Florida Criminal Code and Florida Criminal Procedures

Pay

$17.50 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Weekend availability required
• Holidays required
