Overnight Sanitor II
Position Summary
The Sanitor II is responsible for maintaining facility cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout warehouse and operational areas while utilizing powered material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks, to support sanitation activities. This role performs cleaning and sanitation duties in accordance with company procedures, food safety standards, and workplace safety guidelines while ensuring sanitation materials, equipment, and waste are safely transported throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, floors, walls, racks, docks, storage areas, and operational workspaces.
- Follow established sanitation schedules, SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety requirements.
- Safely handle, mix, and prepare cleaning chemicals according to company procedures and safety standards.
- Operate approved sanitation equipment including scrubbers, power washers, hoses, vacuums, and cleaning tools.
- Operate electric pallet jacks and other approved material handling equipment to transport sanitation supplies, equipment, waste materials, pallets, and operational items throughout the facility.
- Move and stage sanitation equipment and cleaning materials to support daily sanitation activities.
- Remove trash, debris, damaged product, and waste materials from warehouse and operational areas.
- Maintain sanitation logs, cleaning checklists, and required documentation accurately and timely.
- Inspect work areas to identify sanitation concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards and communicate findings to leadership.
- Ensure cleaning tools, equipment, and sanitation supplies are properly maintained, stored, and organized.
- Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
- Absorb additional sanitation and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior sanitation, warehouse, janitorial, or food production experience preferred.
- Experience operating electric pallet jacks or other powered material handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment.
- Basic communication and teamwork skills required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to learn sanitation procedures, chemical handling, and food safety standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move cleaning equipment, supplies, and materials within company established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to operate electric pallet jacks and other approved material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, wet, humid, or varying temperature environments.
- Ability to safely use sanitation equipment and cleaning chemicals as trained.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, including experience as an HR Business Partner or HR leader supporting corporate or professional functions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple functional groups simultaneously (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations, Technology).
- Demonstrated expertise in job reorganization, organizational design, and job leveling.
- Advanced employee relations experience, including investigations and high-risk matters.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence at the senior leadership level.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for workforce support.
- SHRM certification a plus.
