Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of production equipment, floors, walls, drains, and work areas.
- Follow established sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and master sanitation schedules.
- Apply appropriate cleaning chemicals safely and effectively, ensuring correct concentrations and contact times.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment as required.
- Adhere to FDA, USDA, OSHA, and company food safety and workplace safety regulations.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report and document sanitation activities, chemical usage, and any food safety concerns.
- Support audits and inspections by providing accurate cleaning records and demonstrating compliance.
- Cook with production and maintenance teams to ensure proper sanitation before and after shifts.
- Communicate hazards, equipment issues, or deviations to supervisors promptly.
- Participate in ongoing training in sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety practices.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial, or food manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Ability to read and follow safety instructions, chemical labels, and sanitation procedures.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, wet conditions, and heavy cleaning tasks.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to food safety.
Work Environment
- Industrial food manufacturing facility (cold, wet, or humid conditions may apply).
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
