Overnight RN Supervisor
About the role
The RN Supervisor at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Barnwell is responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term planning of patient care, overseeing staff, collaborating with physicians, and providing both physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families.
Responsibilities
- Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual patients, as well as others in a position to understand service needs.
- Schedule and assign nursing staff.
- Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Answer questions and address requests from patients and the healthcare team.
- Develop and interpret infection-control policies, enforce medication administration, and ensure compliance with controlled substance regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by monitoring the secure processing of confidential information.
- Audit patient and department records.
- Verify the availability of emergency equipment, complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
- Communicate information, respond to requests, build rapport, and participate in team problem-solving.
- Seek assistance from other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Current NYS RN Licensure (BSN preferred but not required).
- Minimum two years of experience in Long-Term Care or medical/surgical settings.
- Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.

$40.00 to $55.00 per hour (based on experience)
