Overnight Residential Counselor - PRN

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with personal care and personal hygiene including feeding, toileting and bathing
• Affords assistance in creating a safe and healthy environment
• Coordinates with culinary services for ordering and obtaining meals and food supplies
• Prepares meals and snacks
• Affords assistance in escorting clients to locations and activities off the unit
• Affords assistance in transporting clients to off-campus appointments and locations
• Affords assistance in preparing rooms for client admissions and discharges
• Affords assistance in monitoring supplies needed on the unit and assisting with obtaining same
• Affords representation of the Villa in a positive manner in all interactions with families, placing agents and the community at large
• Participates actively in staff meetings
• Attends scheduled training programs for professional development that include, at a minimum, trainings required by St. Joseph's Villa, and regulatory and accrediting bodies
• Performs other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Six (6) months experience working with behavior issues and/or mental health diagnoses is required.
• A valid Virginia driver's license and an excellent driving record are required.
