About the Role

The Overnight Receiving Supervisor directs and oversees warehouse operations for retail stores, supervises warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators, and manages the daily freight schedule based on customer and inventory needs.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment)
  • Excellent interpersonal, team-building, delegating, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships with other departments
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Competency in basic mathematical calculations
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to work in Windows-based systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
  • Available to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons

Responsibilities

  • Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning for shipping and receiving products efficiently
  • Direct day-to-day warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory control
  • Oversee Storage Buy transactions, receiving errors, and product staging
  • Maintain warehouse equipment, including preventive maintenance and coordinating repairs
  • Ensure warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment for distribution functions
  • Implement warehouse safety programs to comply with OSHA, local, and state regulations
  • Train associates and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Manage the progressive disciplinary process, including counseling and warnings
  • Handle employee inquiries and maintain a productive labor climate
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations
  • Complete necessary Activity Reports for management
  • Monitor paperwork flow from Receiving to Inventory Control Specialist for timely data entry
  • Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
  • Execute the Storage Buy Audit COP
  • Ensure products are staged for counting and inspection
  • Oversee proper product storage to conserve space and comply with safety procedures
  • Manage inventory rotation within the warehouse
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
  • Moderate to noisy work environment

Store hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Pickup hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Physical & Sensory Requirements

  • Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
