Overnight Plant Machinist

About the role

The Plant Machinist supports the tool and die needs of the production and maintenance departments. The normal work week is approximately 50 hours if business demands require overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate various machine tools to produce precision parts and tools
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy in part production
• Maintain and operate machine tools to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repair on machine tools as needed
• Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in machining or tool and die making
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and CNC programming
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in operating various types of machine tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required

Skills

• Proficient in using machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders
• Experience with CNC programming and operation
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed
