About the Role
The Overnight Operations Manager is responsible for managing the physical merchandising of all items for a retail branch location. Under the direction of the Branch Manager, this role accomplishes operational goals through effective time management strategies aligned with the goals of sales, order fulfillment, merchandising, and inventory teams.
Responsibilities
- Optimize sales through effective product replenishment throughout the branch location.
- Ensure a high level of organization and neatness while completing inventory replenishment tasks.
- Maintain promotional displays that highlight promotional items effectively.
- Support order fulfillment by managing order pulling as needed throughout the shift.
- Communicate effectively with other department managers to meet customer needs in a timely manner.
- Support the safety and maintenance of the building and equipment by communicating with Branch/Assistant Branch Manager.
- Manage employee relation issues as needed.
- Support the development and training needs of the overnight team related to operational goals.
- Perform additional tasks and support initiatives as assigned by management to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage building safety by holding keys and using alarm codes as outlined in company policy.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the store.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 9 hours/day.
- Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in retail and/or supply chain management with a focus on merchandising management.
This role does not require a degree. Relevant skills, experience, and alignment with core values are prioritized.
Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems and project management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and handle difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
