Overnight Museum Attendants (Part-Time/OPS)

About the department

The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, located in Sarasota, Florida, is a department of Florida State University.

Responsibilities

• Patrol The Ringling's 66-acre campus on foot and with golf carts.
• Conduct nightly inspections of assigned areas.
• Assist with urgent/emergency situations in a calm and timely manner.
• Protect the collection, buildings, and grounds including guarding against theft, vandalism, other damage, and the safety of those on the property.
• Utilize computers to write reports, check emails, send correspondences, and submit work orders as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.

Preferred qualifications

• Working in security.
• Providing customer service.
• Working in a museum or non-profit setting.
• Ability to promote a welcoming environment.

Pay

$16.48 per hour (28 hours a week).

Schedule

• 10:15 PM to 6:45 AM.
• Weekends, days, or holidays may be required based on the needs of The Ringling.

This is an OPS/temporary position. Employees are required to wear the standard-issue uniform while at work.
