Overnight ER Veterinarian - Boone, NC

About the role

Located in the beautiful mountain town of Boone, NC, Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country is seeking a compassionate, dedicated part-time or full-time experienced overnight Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a fast-paced, high-impact environment handling a wide range of emergencies, from trauma to complex medical cases.
• Collaborate with top-tier specialists and participate in a team that values quality care.
• Utilize cutting-edge tools including a surgical ventilator, cautery, video endoscopy, digital radiography, referral-quality ultrasound, an in-house blood bank, and easy access to an ultrasound/echocardiography specialist and bi-monthly visits from a trusted ophthalmologist.
• Participate in the ongoing credentialing process to become a Level II Triage Center by the Emergency & Critical Care Society.

Requirements

• Experience in emergency medicine and general practice.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina.
• Passing score on the North Carolina State Board Exam.
